This CD ROM on Food Technology has been developed for use by students studying Home Economics at all levels in secondary school. While developed originally for Scotland, it is suitable for students throughout the UK as a whole.

The CD covers:

• • Current Dietary Advice

• • Food Safety, and

• • Food and the Law

All topics are covered at three levels. The CD can therefore be used to meet a range of pupil needs at all stages of the secondary school curriculum.

Food Technology is now being used in schools in around half of Scottish education authorities and has been receiving really positive feedback from pupils and teachers. Some pupils have wanted to stay in class over lunchtime to use it, and one pupil even asked where he could buy the CD ROM. Staff, too, have given it high praise and have been enthusiastic about how it has helped them, made their teaching of this area easier, and motivated their pupils. Home Economics departments have found it to be really useful in supporting different ability levels of pupils and year groups from S1 - S6.

PRICING:

The cost of an EA-wide licence is £200 +VAT x the number of secondary schools in your authority.

For individual schools, the price is £250 + VAT. This gives you unlimited use for all your staff and pupils. It includes ten copies of each CD for each school. Additional copies are available at cost.

Rocket technical assistance is available free of charge, if necessary, to assist with installation on authority networks.
